Mada Social Bags: What's that?

mada is a committed brand of raffia and leather handbags, handcrafted in Madagascar by artisans with unique expertise.

By creating this brand, I wanted to bring together two elements that are close to my heart: beauty and social impact .

I like beautiful things, good quality and made to last.

Each Mada piece requires more than 20 hours of work, an incomparable know-how where natural fiber and leather blend to create a truly unique bag.

on the other hand, social commitment

Development and the solidarity economy are at the heart of the project.

Behind every bag, there are talented but too often precarious artisans.

We have imagined a fairer model, with remuneration commensurate with their expertise, decent working conditions and real security for the future .

the choice of materials

Leather and raffia, two natural materials that blend together perfectly.

Raffia , this natural fiber, comes from the palm tree and Madagascar is the world's leading producer. For our bags we have selected the highest quality, it comes from Mahajanga, in the northwest of the island.

The leather , which adds a touch of sophistication to our bags, is of French origin. The Sovos tannery, located in the heart of the Vosges mountains, works with exceptional leathers. Thanks to their expertise, we obtain leathers with colors that perfectly match those of our raffia.
