Beyond our love for slow fashion, we want mada social bags to embody a message of solidarity and respect for all.
Madagascar is a poor country, where a large portion of the population lives below the poverty line. This poverty is manifested by a lack of financial resources but also by difficulties accessing health and education.
Our artisans and their families are affected by this precarious situation. It was therefore obvious to us that we should support them as much as possible.
We have therefore jointly implemented the following actions:
1. fair remuneration
Our artisans receive a salary three times higher than what they would have earned for equivalent work elsewhere.
This remuneration is commensurate with their exceptional know-how and allows them to access a better standard of living .
2. access to health
The health of our artisans is a priority.
In Madagascar, access to healthcare is complicated for the majority of the population, particularly in rural areas.
We offer comprehensive health coverage to all our artisans, so that access to care is no longer a problem.
3. access to education
Only 60% of Malagasy children are enrolled in school.
We cover the school fees of our artisans' children, giving them the chance to access quality education and build a promising future.
4. we contribute to their retirement
In Madagascar, a tiny portion of the population receives a pension, which pushes most Malagasy people to work their entire lives.
We therefore contribute to the retirement of each of our artisans.
Of course, we can go even further and we will!
Our ambition is to grow enough to create a social fund ,
financed by our profits.
This social fund will allow us to further our actions by offering bonuses for important life events such as a birth or a marriage, giving rice during the period between two harvests which can be difficult, or even offering scholarships for higher education for children as they grow up.
